Are LED ceiling light fixtures better than traditional fixtures?

LED ceiling lights are the better everyday choice when you want lower power use, less heat, and a long rated life. A socket fixture is the better choice when you want to change the lamp later. A typical 800-lumen LED is about 8 to 12 watts. A similar incandescent is about 60 watts. That comparison is standard lamp guidance, not a test of one 51lighting SKU.

Integrated LED Socket fixture
Service A failed driver usually means a new fixture You replace the bulb
Color Fixed unless the driver offers selectable white You choose the bulb
Heat Lower at the shade for the same lumens Incandescent and halogen run hot

Do LEDs always last 25 years?

No. Makers often rate integrated LEDs around 25,000 to 50,000 hours. Heat, a bad dimmer, and driver failure shorten that.
