What size flush mount ceiling light fixture should I get for my room?
Add the room length and width in feet, and use that sum as a starting diameter in inches. A 10 by 12 foot room starts near 22 inches. An 8 by 10 foot room starts near 18 inches. This is a common design rule of thumb. Diameter is scale. Lumens are brightness. On an 8-foot ceiling, use a flush mount.
